When and how did you get started mushing? I used to skijor with my alaskan malamute and siberian husky and have always had a dream to have my own sled dog team. I worked at a local dogsledding tour business and through meeting people at local races and talking with experienced mushers I was able to find the confidence and education to start my own dogsled team. My team started with 6 dogs that I was able to get through Jessie Royer and Jason Campeau and since then I had a litter of puppies and our kennel has now grown to 11 sled dogs (and hopefully more one day haha). Its been such a joy watching the pups grow up and becoming sled dogs! They did their first 100 mile races last year at Idaho Sled Dog Challenge and Race to the Sky and they all did amazing! I am so proud of them. I give all the credit to God for His perfect timing and His hand in my life allowing me to fulfill these dreams in my heart. I am also very grateful to my husband and family for their support and helping my to be able to live out these dreams.
What have been your mushing highlights? Hard to pick one, I feel that everyday out with the dogs in the mountains and snow is a highlight for me! Its just too beautiful!
Future Goals My goal is to do keep enjoying the 100 mile races and enter new ones around that we havent experienced as well as getting up to 300s and more. As fun as it all is, really I just want to always have a solid, happy, tail wagging team with a strong bond and to be able to explore new country in the backcountry all the time. Doesn't have to be races but they sure are fun! I just love getting out there.
