Ceremonial start
Unleash the Spirit of the 2025 Idaho Sled Dog Challenge
at the Ceremonial Start!
The Ceremonial Start is our opportunity to share the excitement of sled dog racing and “Unleash the Spirit” of the Idaho Sled Dog Challenge for those who are unable to attend the Official Start during the workweek.
This event provides unique opportunity to see what the Sled Dog Challenge is all about – to talk to the mushers in a relaxed setting, to see the dogs begin to get excited when they are hooked up tot heir harnesses and, best of all, to watch the musher and dogs, working as a team, fly out of the chute!
Each of our 200-mile mushers will be carrying a lucky rider. As part of the ISDC’s mission of bringing sled dog racing into the classroom through STEM, three lucky students from our communities will have the opportunity to win a ride. Each library is hosting it’s own contest.
We look forward to seeing you at the Ceremonial Start!
